A Guide to Celebrating the Holidays as a Couple

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…

Yeah, we said it. We believe it, too. From the first flurries of snow to long-standing family traditions to a warm mug of hot chocolate, there’s something so special about the season. The dreaminess of it all is made even more memorable when you’re sharing it with your better half.

Whether you are spending your first year together or twentieth, here are some of our favorite tips for celebrating the holidays together as a couple:

Make a Plan

It’s no secret that the most wonderful time of the year can also be the busiest. Before the holidays get into full swing, sit down with your partner and make a plan for any can’t-miss upcoming occasions. Figure out when important office parties and required family functions fall on the calendar so that you can both attend together.

Give Meaningful Gifts

Gifts may not be the most important part of the holidays, but they certainly are a big factor. When shopping for your significant other, consider a custom gift. Gifts that are personalized – like an engraved Ring, monogrammed notebook, or matching coffee mugs printed with your embarrassing nicknames – simply mean more and will be a present they’ll never forget.

Start a New Tradition

Take time away from the hustle and bustle to start a new tradition as just the two of you. From ice skating downtown to baking a new cookie recipe to marathoning Christmas movies (yes, Die Hard does count), your new tradition should be unique to you as a couple, and something you can look forward to for years to come.
